Job summary

Zones – First Choice for IT is seeking an L2 SME in Jersey City, NJ for a 6 month contract to hire. You will support a global service network, handle escalations from the service help desk, and collaborate with product managers, engineers, and logistics teams to close gaps between engineering and customer issues.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in engineering, strong x86 troubleshooting, IPMI/BMC experience, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
At least 5 years engineering experience supporting complex GPU servers, storage systems, networking and enterprise GPU platforms.
Hands-on with IPMI, BMC tools and server management technologies.
Experience with Linux, VMware, and Windows Server operating systems.

Responsibilities

Support global customers and service teams; work swing/graveyard shifts; may require weekends.
Troubleshoot and isolate x86 component issues including CPU, memory, PSU, motherboard failures.
Analyze debug logs and system information for OS, CPU, memory, motherboard, GPU, PCIe, and related issues.
Assist with root cause analysis and postmortems; collaborate with engineering to resolve escalations.
