Job summary

Zones IT Solutions is seeking a Service Desk Engineer for a 6-month contract to hire, onsite in San Jose, CA, with pay up to $39/hr. You will escalate issues, provide technical guidance, and bridge engineering and customer teams to uphold product quality.

You’ll work with product managers, engineers, and support staff across labs and field sites. Ideal candidates have a EE/CS degree (or equivalent), 8+ years of field engineering experience with GPU servers and networking, strong IPMI/BMC skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
• 8+ years of field engineering supporting complex GPU servers, storage enclosures, networking systems.
• Fluent in English.
• Willing to travel 5–10%.
• Strong IPMI/BMC knowledge and debugging skills.
• Experience with Linux, VMware, and Windows Server.

Responsibilities

• Handle escalation issues from the service help desk and bridge engineering and customer teams.
• Provide technical information to education and service teams; teach and present hardware/software concepts.
• Analyze root causes, perform lab testing, and drive postmortem investigations until resolution.
• Create test plans, SOPs, and training materials for internal and customer use.
• Train internal staff, customers, and partners on SMC solutions as needed.
• Travel to customer sites as required to resolve issues.
