Our client, a nationally recognized Am Law 100 labor and employment firm, is looking to add an experienced Labor & Employment Counsel to its remote practice. With a longstanding focus on workplace law and a sophisticated employer-side client base, the firm offers attorneys the opportunity to handle substantive employment matters in a flexible and sustainable environment.

This position is ideal for an L&E attorney who enjoys counseling and administrative agency work but is looking to step away from the traditional law firm pressures of litigation, rainmaking, and excessive billable requirements.

Why This Opportunity
  • 100% remote arrangement anywhere within the U.S.
  • Lower annual billable expectations than most large firms
  • No court appearances or litigation responsibilities
  • No requirement to develop business or maintain a book
  • Exposure to complex employment matters for national employers
  • Strong emphasis on work-life balance
  • Long-term, stable counsel-level position with a respected national platform
What You'll Be Doing

Working as part of a nationwide labor and employment team, you will guide employers through administrative proceedings and employment-related disputes from intake through resolution. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing agency charges and attorney demand matters independently
  • Conducting investigations and preparing strategic responses
  • Drafting persuasive position statements and related submissions
  • Responding to requests from administrative agencies
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the lifecycle of a matter
  • Participating in virtual mediations and settlement negotiations
  • Leveraging the firm's proprietary systems and technology to deliver efficient client service
  • Collaborating with experienced L&E attorneys across multiple jurisdictions

This role is focused on counseling and administrative matters and does not include litigation or business development obligations.

Required Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active bar license in state of residence
  • At least six years of labor and employment law experience
  • Experience handling administrative agency matters and employment-related disputes
  • Excellent legal writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting
Ideal Background

This role would be a strong fit for an attorney who:

  • Has significant labor & employment experience on the employer side
  • Is comfortable managing matters with minimal supervision
  • Enjoys drafting, analysis, and strategic problem-solving
  • Has experience responding to agency investigations or charges
  • Values flexibility and meaningful work over traditional law firm demands
  • Is seeking a long-term platform that offers both stability and quality of life
