Job summary

UNC Health Wayne seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Labor & Delivery team. The RN will lead in applying nursing principles, assist providers with therapeutic regimens, and coordinate care with licensed and unlicensed staff to meet patient needs.

The role requires NC RN licensure, strong clinical skills, and ability to mentor teammates; night shifts with onsite duties in Wayne, NC are typical. Incentives and relocation support are available to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current NC RN licensure.
BLS and/or other life support certifications as required by department.
At least 1 year of experience preferred.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care delivered to patients in accordance with provider orders, hospital and nursing standards, established policies and procedures, and regulations.
Individualizes the plan of care using professional nursing judgment based on the patient's baseline needs and response to care. Evaluates patient progress and updates care plan accordingly.
Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems and organizes care priorities.
Collaborates and communicates effectively with providers, interdisciplinary teammates, patients and their families.
Guides the professional growth of others within the department through precepting and mentoring.
Responds appropriately in emergency situations and participates in performance improvement activities.
