Job summary

Firmus Technologies seeks a Senior Kubernetes Engineer, AI Infrastructure, to own the backend infrastructure of the Firmus Kubernetes platform. This hands-on principal role covers cluster lifecycle, networking, storage, security, observability, and automation for GPU-accelerated bare-metal environments.

You will set platform engineering standards, work with AI Platforms, Solutions Architecture & Delivery, and operations to deliver a secure, scalable, multi-tenant platform at AI-factory scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in infrastructure/platform engineering with production Kubernetes
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes internals and control-plane components
• Experience building multi-cluster Kubernetes platforms on bare metal/private cloud
• Proficient in Go and/or Rust; practical Python and Bash skills
• Strong Linux systems knowledge and performance troubleshooting
• Kubernetes networking expertise across CNI and load balancing
• GitOps and CI/CD with Terraform/Ansible/Argo Flux
• Kubernetes security, RBAC, image security, policy-as-code
• Observability stack with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
• GPU-enabled Kubernetes infra with NVIDIA Operator and AI workloads

Responsibilities

• Define and own the Kubernetes platform reference architecture across management and workload clusters
• Build and maintain backend services, controllers, and automation for cluster lifecycle
• Engineer bare-metal Kubernetes deployment and lifecycle workflows with infra-as-code
• Design and operate cluster networking including CNI, ingress, DNS, load balancing
• Define storage patterns using CSI, Ceph, object storage, backup and restore
• Integrate NVIDIA GPU operators, device plugins, telemetry, and topology-aware placement
• Establish GitOps/CI/CD patterns for platform software and policy
• Embed security into architecture with IAM, secrets, and supply-chain controls
• Define SLOs/observability and lead diagnosis of complex distributed failures
• Set engineering standards and mentor senior engineers
