Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Customer Facing Senior Platform Engineer to support software delivery for Space Systems Command on our platform-as-a-service solution. You will act as a trusted technical partner to mission teams, guiding onboarding, deployment, and operations while collaborating with software teams to improve delivery speed, security, and reliability.

The role emphasizes solving hard technical problems, direct customer interaction, and 25% travel.

Qualifications

Requires BS and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
Minimum 6 years designing, building, and operating production Kubernetes platforms.
Strong expertise in Azure Cloud Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure.
Experience engineering cloud-native platforms, including Kubernetes and hybrid cloud.
Troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure, networking, platform services, and deployments while communicating with customers.
Experience providing mission-focused technical engagement and building trusted customer relationships.
Experience implementing automation and Infrastructure as Code for reliability and performance.
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and influence technical decisions.
Active Secret security clearance.
United States citizenship
Current CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent DoD IA certification

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical partner for mission teams, enabling onboarding, deployment, and operations.
Guide software teams in adopting platform capabilities and engineering standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across cloud, Kubernetes, networking, and integrations.
Collaborate with customers to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
Identify recurring issues and develop reusable platform capabilities.
Develop solutions to simplify onboarding, deployment, and lifecycle management.
Coordinate with cloud, Kubernetes, cybersecurity, and product teams on challenges.
Improve platform reliability, automation, security, and documentation.
Create technical docs, guidance, and engineering standards for customer success.
Participate in architecture discussions and platform direction.
Monitor platform health and proactively reduce operational risks.
Build trusted relationships through clear communication and leadership in customer success.
