Job summary

New Relic, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer to drive the evolution of our Kubernetes-based infrastructure. You will own Day 1/Day 2 operations, build scalable automation, and partner with global teams to ensure high availability across our internal platform.

You will apply strong Go skills to system tooling, contribute to Helm, ArgoCD, and Flux-based workflows, and help optimize production reliability while supporting a hybrid work model and cutting-edge cloud-native technologies.

Qualifications

Experience managing production environments in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles.
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes primitives (Deployments, StatefulSets, Services) and building Operators.
Proficiency in Go for systems programming and automation.
Experience with production monitoring and incident response.
Familiarity with cloud-native tooling and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

Oversee and enhance a massive Kubernetes infrastructure platform for peak availability and reliability.
Evolve internal tooling to reduce manual overhead and accelerate platform delivery across global teams.
Manage Day 1 and Day 2 operations for Kubernetes clusters using modern scaling frameworks.
Partner with engineering to handle production incidents and ensure incident postmortems and improvements.
