Job summary

DDAT is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 child working below age-expected levels. The role focuses on delivering a bespoke curriculum under the SENDCO and providing sensitive one-to-one support to help progress across all areas of development.

The post involves collaboration with parents and professionals, contributing to a nurturing and inclusive learning environment while complying with safeguarding and equal opportunities policies.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children in an educational or care setting, especially those with additional educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the SENDCO to implement a bespoke curriculum for the child.
• Provide one-on-one support, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Assist in planning and delivery of engaging activities promoting development across all areas.
• Monitor and record the child's progress and provide feedback to staff.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers and professionals to support holistic development.
• Follow a right-to-work and safeguarding procedures as required.
