Job summary

Leigh Academy Peninsula East is seeking a teaching assistant (1:1) to support a KS1 pupil with communication and interaction needs. You will work closely with the SEN team and teachers to tailor support, promote independence and safety throughout the school day.

The role is fixed-term until July 2027, 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 1 inset week, with established routines and collaboration with external professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEND pupils or children with complex needs.
• Strong spoken and written English and Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to a designated child to access learning and develop independence.
• Work with class teachers, the SEN team and external professionals to meet the child’s needs.
• Support the child with aspects of personal care as required to ensure wellbeing.
