Job summary

Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is seeking Korean and Mandarin interpreters for IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other evaluations. Interpreters must be available during the day and able to travel to local client sites in New Castle County, Delaware.

This is an in-person opportunity with flexible hours totaling about 1–3 hours per month. Ideal candidates are fluent in English and Mandarin, possess reliable transportation, and can pass required background checks.

Qualifications

• Fully fluent in English and Mandarin
• Daytime availability (9 AM–5 PM)
• Access to reliable transportation
• 1+ years interpreting experience preferred but not required
• Background checks including federal, state and child abuse registry may be required

Responsibilities

• Travel to local client sites within New Castle County, Delaware area
• Provide Mandarin-English interpreting for school meetings, conferences, medical appointments, and more
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional conduct standards
• Follow organization policies and interpreting protocols

Language needed: Korean or Mandarin - Immediate need

Location: New Castle County, Delaware - IN-PERSON

Responsibilities

• Travel to local client sites within the New Castle County, Delaware area
• Provide Mandarin-English interpreting for school meetings, parent-teacher conferences, medical appointments, and more
• Adhere to Code of Professional Conduct, including maintaining strict standards of confidentiality
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry-specific best practices

Job Requirements

• Full fluency in both English and Mandarin
• Some daytime availability (between the hours of 9AM - 5 PM)
• Availability to support our interpreting clients up to 5 hours a month
• Access to reliable transportation
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred, but not required
• Industry-specific certifications/trainings preferred (CMI, CCHI, etc.), but not required
• Candidates mustbe willing to get a background check including Federal, State, and Child Abuse Registry
• Must have reliable phone service for contact
• Must be comfortable with using a computer or smartphone for job input
