Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking a Bilingual Assistant in Korean for the 2018 Summer Language School program, located on the Mills College campus in Oakland, CA. The position supports students, faculty, and guests with language and cultural activities during an intensive 8-week session.

The role includes tutoring, co-curricular engagement, and on-site communications, along with housing and a meal plan. Strong Korean and English language skills, plus teamwork, are essential.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in Korean and English.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary in-language contact for students and faculty.*
• Provide language practice and support outside of class, during meals, and in dorms*.
• Assist with co-curricular activities, events, and cultural programming.*
• Offer tutoring and pedagogical support, including conversation practice and testing assistance.
• Provide general IT support and classroom tech support as needed.
• Assist with communications across email, website, and social media.*
• Administrative tasks in the School office and guiding students, faculty, and guests.
