Middlebury College invites applications for an Instructor of Korean in the graduate program. The School of Korean seeks candidates to teach graduate courses in Korean as a Foreign Language, with emphasis on pedagogy and curriculum development. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in the field, have a record of KFL research, and a commitment to student learning.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in the field, record of research in KFL, commitment to student learning, and demonstrated success as part of an instructional team.
• Experience teaching graduate level courses in KFL, Linguistics, or Applied Linguistics such as Structure of Korean for Teachers, Pedagogical Grammar, Language Analysis, and Teaching Languages Online.
• ABD candidates will be considered under certain circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Develop synchronous and asynchronous curriculum for courses.
• Collaborate with language instructors to enhance instruction.
• Contribute to curriculum development for graduate Korean program.

The School of Korean at Middlebury College is pleased to announcevacancies for adjunct faculty positions of Korean graduate program.The positions are available one of four terms, Summer1, Fall,Spring, and Summer 2, of Master of Arts degree program in Korean.Summer sessions will be in beautiful Middlebury College campus inMiddlebury, Vermont and both semesters are in hybrid format. Ourunique MA in Korean includes courses focusing on KoreanPedagogy.

We welcome candidates with the following characteristics:Experience teaching graduate level courses in KFL (Korean as aForeign Language), Linguistics, or Applied Linguistics such asStructure of Korean for Teachers, Pedagogical Grammar, LanguageAnalysis, and Teaching Languages Online. The new hire willcontribute to developing synchronous and asynchronous curriculumfor the courses and will be expected to collaborate with languageinstructors.

In addition to the salary, lodging and a complete meal plan will beprovided, if the program is in-person. We will announce thedecision on either in-person or virtual program early 2022.
