Job summary

Accenture is seeking an experienced Knowledge Modeler / Ontologist to drive domain ontology design and governance for enterprise knowledge graph initiatives. You will translate business domains into rigorous semantic models, collaborate with data engineering and AI/ML teams, and ensure compliance with governance standards while aligning with business goals.

You will lead the ontology lifecycle, map data sources into semantic frameworks, and coach SMEs to validate competency questions guiding

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in ontology engineering, knowledge modeling, or a closely related semantic web discipline.
• Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience delivering domain ontologies in an enterprise or consulting context.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field as listed above.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full ontology lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Design T-Box structures and contribute to A-Box hydration patterns across data sources.
• Apply naming conventions, URI strategies, and modular architecture principles.
• Create and evolve ontologies, taxonomies, and vocabularies using OWL, RDF, RDFS, and SKOS.
• Map relational data into semantic frameworks and build knowledge graphs for analytics.
• Coach SMEs and stakeholders in developing competency questions to guide scope.
• Collaborate with NLP/Entity Extraction teams on ontology-guided information extraction.
• Ensure alignment with governance standards and willingness to share modeling approaches.
