Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Superintendent/Principal and in collaboration with a fully credentialed teacher, the paraprofessional will perform a variety of instructional activities, assist in intensified learning experiences, conduct routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel, and complete other related duties as required.

Responsibilities

Assist teachers in daily classroom instruction, support student learning and engagement, provide individualized or group assistance to students, manage classroom materials and resources, and maintain a safe and organized learning environment.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Required documents at the time of application: Letter of Introduction, three current letters of recommendation, and a resume.
• Required documents prior to employment: Tuberculosis clearance, fingerprint clearance, and proof of high school graduation.
• Experience: One year paid or volunteer experience working with multi‑age groups of children.
• Education: Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade plus training or coursework in child growth and development, instructional technology, or a closely related field; certificate of passing score on the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA); valid California teaching credential or passing score on the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST) may be accepted in lieu of the aide proficiency test.
• Condition of employment: Insurability by the district’s liability insurance carrier; employment contingent upon fingerprint and background clearance and a recent negative tuberculosis test result.

Compensation and Work Schedule

Pay Range: $17.68 – $25.77 per hour. Initial placement limited to Step 4 ($18.76/hr). Work year: 181 days/year, 5 days/week, 6.5 hours/day (8:00 AM – 3:00 PM). Employment type: Part‑time.
