Job summary

Eaton in Sumter, SC is seeking a Material Handler-Forklift Operator to support shipping and production in a fast-paced environment. You’ll move materials, perform cycle counts, and help ensure timely order fulfillment while adhering to quality standards.

The role requires forklift/crane experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to lift 35 lbs. Expect a 4-day schedule (Mon-Thu) with an hourly rate of $16.00 and eligibility for a variable incentive program.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• Must reside within 50 miles of Sumter, SC.
• Experience operating forklift and/or crane.
• Able to lift at least 35 lbs with or without accommodations.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts.
• Familiar with steel and bus fabrication, purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory control.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, and basic ERP systems (AS400/Mapics/Vista).

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and cranes to move equipment and materials.
• Receive, document, store, stage and issue materials to production.
• Support assembly and fabrication requirements.
• Package and label items for shipping and storage.
• Perform quality checks and ensure adherence to Eaton quality guidelines.
• Follow 5S standards and maintain clean work area.
• Follow safety and industrial hygiene requirements.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, and cycle counts.
