Job summary

TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants is seeking a General Utility to maintain kitchen areas and assist in food preparation in our Applebee's location. The role focuses on cleanliness, safety, and supporting chefs in daily tasks.

This position requires physical stamina, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and teamwork. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and adapt to indoor/outdoor conditions; the team values reliability and a commitment to food safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents, and to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Scrapes and pre-rinses food from dirty dishes and places them in the dishwashing machine.
• Washes pots, pans and trays by hand and/or machine.
• Completes all assigned prep work.
• Removes trash and garbage to dumpster area.
• Washes work area tables, walls, refrigerator equipment, cooking equipment and floors.
• Cleans garbage cans and trash receptacles.
• Assembles, maintains and breaks down dish machine.
• Transports cases up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day.
• Ability to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on shelves at various heights.
• Works indoors (90%), outdoors (10%).
• Responds in emergency situations to avoid danger.
