Job summary

The Kitchen Technician at Particular Council of St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge will support daily meal service, ensuring safe, reliable food preparation and respectful service for neighbors in need.

This full-time, onsite role helps keep the kitchen running smoothly for guests, volunteers, and staff. You will rotate through prep, storage, and dining areas, especially around peak meal times, while maintaining high sanitation standards and following health regulations.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Certification required or preferred.
• 1 year cooking experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Respect and support of Catholic Church and St. Vincent de Paul traditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, portioning, and service support.
• Store and label food properly; manage stock and rotate inventory.
• Maintain kitchen, dining, and storage cleanliness per sanitation standards.
• Follow health department regulations and food safety practices.
• Operate standard commercial kitchen equipment safely.
