Job summary

Yoshinoya America, Inc. is hiring a Cook for our Lawndale, CA location. You will prepare and cook food following recipes and safety standards, operate kitchen equipment, and maintain quality, taste, and presentation for guests.

You will handle portions, assist with serving, and help ensure a fast, sanitary dining experience. The role requires reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn, with on-site work in a busy kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy working with people; greet guests with a warm and friendly smile.
• Ability to perform routine food service activities according to established operational policies and procedures.
• Preferred 6 months of cooking/preparing food in a professional setting.
• Provide EXCELLENT service to all our guests in accordance with company service expectations.
• Must possess good communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to respond to guest inquiries and concerns in a friendly and courteous manner while providing accurate information.

Responsibilities

• Cook food as prescribed by recipe and cooking specs while following food safety guidelines to ensure a NOURISHING dish.
• Operate cooking equipment (beef cooker, griddle, fryer, rice cooker, steamtable) following safety procedures.
• Prepare food for cooking and consuming, including washing rice and transferring to rice pot.
• Maintain food temperature per regulations.
• Maintain quality, presentation, and taste to provide a FRESH dish.
• Portion food per procedures and specs.
• Serve food to a high quality standard following safety guidelines.
• Keep the workspace clean and safe while performing cleaning duties.
