Job summary

Mokara Hotel & Spa is seeking a dedicated Steward/Dishwasher to uphold cleanliness and sanitation in our kitchen. This role supports cooks, servers, and guests by ensuring equipment and areas are spotless and properly organized.

You will work as part of a dynamic Stewarding team, maintaining safety standards and assisting in inventory. Weekend and holiday availability is required, with a focus on reliable, courteous service.

Qualifications

• Possess strong customer service orientation and teamwork.
• Able to communicate effectively with staff and guests.
• Maintain high safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
• Willingness to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sort soiled wares promptly for dishwashing.
• Wash ware and return to storage areas.
• Keep dish machines clean and filled with water.
• Polish silver and ensure proper appearance.
• Clean kettles, skillets, pots and pans.
• Transport and clean utensils for staff use.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Sweep and mop floors and sanitize surfaces.
• Assist kitchen staff as needed.
• Attend department meetings and training.
