Job summary

Viejas Casino & Resort in San Diego, CA is seeking a Kitchen Steward to support chefs and cooks by maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen and proper food handling areas. You will sanitize dishes, stock supplies, and ensure HACCP standards are followed to protect guest health.

This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work flexible shifts in a fast-paced environment. Prior cleaning experience is helpful; a Food Handler’s Certificate is required, and applicants should

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months cleaning experience in restaurant or housekeeping preferred.
• Food Handler’s Certificate required.
• Good verbal, written and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress work environment.
• Must be dependable and able to work varied shifts, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, silverware, china, glassware, and banquet supplies.
• Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment and surfaces to HACCP standards.
• Removes trash and laundry, and transports for disposal or pickup.
• Sweeps, mops, and cleans floors, walls, and ventilation areas.
• Stocks inventory and assists with storage and organization of shipments.
• Responds to spills and requests quickly while ensuring guest satisfaction.
