Job summary

Good Eats Group in Chicago is seeking a Kitchen Line Cook to join our fast-paced culinary team and support prep and dishwashing operations. You will help the prep cook and other kitchen staff while maintaining high sanitation standards.

Our environment emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and efficiency. Training is provided for the right candidate, with emphasis on following sanitary protocols and delivering consistent, quality service in a lively setting.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Excellent critical thinking and time management skills.
• Ability to operate industrial machinery and lift up to 20 lbs.
• Willingness to work in hot, humid environment and stand for 8 hours per shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate the industrial dishwasher.
• Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary.
• Empty and clean all trash receptacles.
• Clean iced tea, coffee and milkshake machines daily.
• Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources.
• Follow sanitation policies at all times.
• Provide assistance to prep cook and other kitchen staff, especially during peak times.
• Perform opening, closing and side work.
• Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately.
• Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to appropriate party.
