Job summary

Spruce Peak, part of Destination by Hyatt at Stowe, VT, is seeking a dependable Steward to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. Responsibilities include washing dishes and assisting with general cleaning throughout the culinary operation.

The position requires previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred, ability to work in a fast-paced setting, and reliable attendance. Pay rate starts at $19+ per hour with full-time and part-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Prior dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish room and kitchen areas.
• Remove trash and recycling regularly and transport to designated disposal areas.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, ensuring all work areas remain clean and safe.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation surfaces and kitchen equipment as directed.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when needed.
• Restock kitchen supplies, chemicals, and disposables as required.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Support cooks and culinary staff with basic cleaning and organizational tasks.
• Assist with end-of-shift and deep-cleaning projects.
