Job summary

Upper Crust Food Service is seeking a Student Steward to support the culinary team by maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen and dining room, washing and stocking supplies, and assisting with deliveries. The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to safety practices in a busy kitchen environment.

Candidates should have prior dishwashing experience or relevant training, be prepared to obtain a food safety handler certification within 30 days, and be able to stand for extended periods in a loud

Qualifications

• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Experience with operating a commercial dishwasher.
• Familiarity with industry best practices in sanitation and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room.
• Wash utensils, equipment and dishes by dishwasher or by hand.
• Put away clean dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans.
• Stock supplies in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
• Sweep and wash floors.
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by Head Chef or Sous Chef.
• Assist in unloading and putting away deliveries.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers.
• Communicate regularly with management via calls, emails, and texts.
