Job summary

The Kitchen Steward at St Vincent de Paul Phoenix supports the culinary team by washing, sanitizing, and storing dishware, cookware, utensils, equipment, and cleaning areas. On-site position requiring a Food Handlers Sanitation Certification (or within 30 days) and a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Food Handlers Sanitation Certification required or obtained within 30 days.
• Experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and health regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and equipment using commercial dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensure all items are cleaned, sanitized, dried, and stored properly.
• Maintain proper storage of pots, pans, dishes, and kitchen tools; return to designated locations.
• Keep dish, pot, and pan areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
• Maintain chemicals in dish machines and 3-compartment sinks with daily log.
