Position Summary

Prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, participate in catering functions, and perform all kitchen positions.

Opaa! Food Management operates in 8 Midwest states. The pay range is $15.00-$16.50/hour, depending on the School District. Please apply, and a Hiring Manager will discuss pay details.

Functions of the Job

Essential Functions Production
  • Assist with setup of serving lines, ensure food is at proper temperature, stock milk coolers.
  • Prepare foods per menu and recipes, plan ahead for next day.
  • Operate slicers, mixers, grinders with proper certification.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and equipment.
  • Manage inventory, practice FIFO, keep coolers and storage clean.
  • Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, equipment, and dishes.
  • Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
  • Prepare baked goods and present appealingly.
  • Batch cook for quality and presentation.
  • Set up serving lines, ensure food is at proper temperatures, restock as needed.
  • Serve food with proper sizes and utensils, maintain presentation and hospitality.
  • Supply serving lines with condiments, napkins, silverware, and dishes.
Compliance
  • Follow menu and recipes, convert and adhere to standardized recipes.
  • Recognize reimbursable meals, follow Meal Pattern regulations.
  • Maintain production records, follow HACCP protocols, record food temperatures.
  • Obey safety rules, report unsafe conditions, participate in safety programs.
  • Attend meetings, complete training hours, promote Opaa! Core Values.
  • Comply with Timekeeping policies.
Administrative
  • Handle customer payments, operate POS or computer systems, ensure only reimbursable meals are processed.
  • Complete paperwork, tray counts, meal reconciliation daily.
  • Record work hours, notify about shift issues promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Visual Activities
  • Stand, walk, sit, squat, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, grasp, feel, taste, smell, talk, hear, reach.
  • Lift/move objects up to 25 pounds frequently, exert over 60 pounds occasionally.
  • Visual abilities include focus, depth perception, color vision.
Working Conditions
  • Indoor and outdoor work, exposure to moving parts, wet/humid conditions, heat, chemicals, cold, loud noise.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to 1 month related experience or training.

Skills

Ability to read, write, present information, perform basic math, apply common sense, operate kitchen equipment.

Equipment

Dishwasher, steamer, mixer, oven, stove, fryers, slicer, thermometers, gauges, knives, software, PCs, phone, copier, etc.
