Job summary

Layla’s Falafel is seeking a dependable Kitchen Porter to maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen while supporting movement, receiving, and transport of food, supplies, and equipment. The role supports the kitchen team in a fast-paced environment and contributes to overall kitchen efficiency.

This position is open to full-time or part-time candidates, with availability in mornings, days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual and dependable.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization and food safety.
• Able to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Experience in kitchen, warehouse, cleaning, delivery, or utility roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen floors, walls, equipment, work areas and storage areas.
• Remove trash, recycling, cardboard and other waste.
• Receive, load, unload, carry and organize deliveries.
• Move food, supplies, equipment and inventory throughout the kitchen.
• Transport products between storage areas, vehicles, kitchen and locations as directed.
• Organize walk-in coolers, freezers, dry storage, and supply areas.
• Rotate inventory using FIFO procedures.
• Keep areas clean and free of hazards; report damages and safety concerns.
