Job summary

Summit Hospitality Group is seeking a Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher to support our Food & Beverage operations at our hotel property. Responsibilities include cleaning dishes, loading washers, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends is required. Prior hotel/restaurant experience and good English communication are preferred; training on brand standards will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel/restaurant with major brand preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Exceptional people skills: ability to learn quickly and efficiently.
• Professional communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Clean pans, pots, dishes, silverware, glasses, and other elements of service used in the kitchen or restaurant.
• Scrape, sort, stack dirty dishes, load them into the dishwashing machine and add soap according to directions and turn it on for cleaning.
• Unload the dishes after cleaning and return to their designated places.
• Transfer equipment from storage areas to work stations.
• Clean floors, equipment, countertops, and walls.
• Stock supplies and assist cooking staff if requested.
• Follow all Health and Safety practices at all times.
• Maintain a proper appearance and work well with other Associates.
• Follow directions of Supervisor and complete brand training.
• Duties are subject to change and additional responsibilities/tasks may be assigned as needed.

REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE CHEF/FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER/SUPERVISOR

JOB TYPE: POSSIBLE FULL AND PART-TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Summary: The Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher for Summit Hospitality Group prime responsibility is to gather and wash dishes when guests leave a banquet, meeting event, or restaurant on the hotel property. The position includes cleaning and maintaining a proper work environment and constant interaction with other Associates to ensure guests have a pleasant and positive memory of service at all levels. Requires flexible work schedule for days/evenings/weekends.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in hotel/restaurant with major brand, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Exceptional people skills: ability to learn quickly and efficiently.
• Professional communication skills both verbal and written (English Proficiency).

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a proper appearance
• Work well with other Associates in a fast-paced environment
• Follow directions of Supervisor
• Complete brand required training

Work Environment:

• Flexible schedule including early mornings/evenings and weekends
• Reliable transportation
• Food Handling certifications as required by applicable law
• Able to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, and reach for extended periods of time
• Good hand-eye coordination with repeated movements of hands
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
