Job summary

Summit Hospitality Group, Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher to support our hotel kitchen operations. The role involves cleaning and maintaining dishware, pots, and kitchen areas, while ensuring a fast-paced service environment stays organized.

You will work under the direction of the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Manager, with shifts including days, evenings, and weekends. Flexible full- and part-time opportunities are available, and prior hotel/brand experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in hotel/restaurant with major brand preferred (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt).
• Exceptional people skills: ability to learn quickly and efficiently.
• Professional communication skills both verbal and written (English Proficiency).

Responsibilities

• Clean pans, pots, dishes, silverware, glasses, and other elements of service used in the kitchen or restaurant.
• Scrape, sort, stack dirty dishes, load them into the dishwashing machine and add soap according to directions and turn it on for cleaning.
• Unload dishes after cleaning and return to designated places for reuse.
• Transfer equipment from storage areas to work stations.
• Clean floors, equipment, countertops, and walls.
• Stock supply of food and help cooking staff if requested.
• Follow all Health and Safety practices at all times.
• Maintain a proper appearance and work with Associates in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow directions of Supervisor and complete brand required training.

Summary

The Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher for Summit Hospitality Group prime responsibility is to gather and wash dishes when guests leave a banquet, meeting event, or restaurant on the hotel property. The position includes cleaning and maintaining a proper work environment and constant interaction with other Associates to ensure guests have a pleasant and positive memory of service at all levels. Requires flexible work schedule for days/evenings/weekends.
