Description
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the dish area. Reports issues with the dish machine or when soap and sanitizer need ordering. Maintains clean dishes and the cleanliness of the dishwasher area, distributes clean dishware to all outlets. Performs trash removal, floor maintenance, and other duties as assigned by management. Promotes professional relationships with internal and external customers. This is a nonsupervisory role. Adheres to organizational policies, procedures, and standards. Promotes teamwork!

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Maintain sanitary working conditions according to company policies.
- Assist with minor food preparation, including vegetable dicing/prepping and baking.
- Properly load racks into the dishwasher, ensuring correct sorting.
- Operate and maintain the dishwasher, including cleaning and draining.
- Inspect washed items for cleanliness and rewash if necessary.
- Keep all work areas, including walls and floors, clean.
- Handle trash removal, sorting, and disposal as per company requirements.
- Assist team members as needed.
- Replenish supplies like salt, pepper, napkins, and drinks during shifts, if necessary.
- May be required to work at other venues based on business needs, including two main events per year.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One year of food service or Kitchen Porter experience preferred.
- Food Safe Certification or ability to obtain it.
- Knowledge of food service preparation is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction.
- Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current automobile insurance if driving is required.
- Basic computer skills including email communication.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Must be free of communicable diseases, with up-to-date immunizations, including TB testing.
- Compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and emergency standards.
