Job summary

Huey’s in Memphis seeks an Experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, supervise staff, and ensure food safety standards. You’ll assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and coordinating kitchen activities to meet demand and quality expectations.

Responsibilities include monitoring ticket times, managing inventories, audits, labor adjustments, and maintaining cleanliness and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Serve Safe or equivalent food safety certification preferred for BOH manager role.

Responsibilities

• Works the Window position on kitchen line during busy times and oversees preparation following recipes and guidelines.
• Interacts with staff daily and communicates pertinent information to management and kitchen employees.
• Coordinates HR functions with General Manager including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Audits weight tests and reconciliation of food, for quality control.
• Oversees upkeep, cleanliness, and organization of kitchen and delivery areas; ensures equipment is maintained and repaired.
• Assists with food orders, inventory, and verifying invoices.
• Assists with weekly/monthly inventories and maintains inventory at or below budgeted amounts.
• Ensures compliance with Memphis/Shelby County Health Department regulations through in-house training and testing of kitchen staff.
• Assists with weekly kitchen scheduling and labor adjustments based on volume.
• Assists with daily prep sheets and par level monitoring.
