Job summary

canteenservices in Centerville, MI is seeking a permanent Full-Time Kitchen Manager for the St. Joseph County Jail. The role demands integrity, a positive can-do attitude, and the ability to thrive in a structured environment.

You will lead meal preparation, read and follow recipes, and supervise kitchen operations while ensuring safety and compliance. Weekend and holiday shifts are required, with a start pay of $22.00 per hour and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts – days and hours (between 8:00am – 5:30pm).
• Clearance approval into the facility.
• Previous food service or kitchen experience would be a plus, but we can train the right person.

• Lead, instruct, and assist with meal preparations including food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up.
