Job summary

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston - Westborough is seeking a Kitchen Line Cook Supervisor to lead the daily kitchen line, assist in food preparation, and uphold quality and safety standards in a fast-paced environment. The role requires hands-on culinary leadership, strong communication, and the ability to train and motivate line cooks.

Starting wage is $26.00 per hour, with opportunities for advancement through our management development program.

Qualifications

  • Previous line cook or culinary experience required; supervisory or lead cook experience preferred
  • Experience in a luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, or high-volume food service is ideal
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for food
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Culinary degree or formal culinary training is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the kitchen line during shifts to ensure smooth service
  • Prepare and execute food items according to recipes, specifications, and quality standards
  • Coordinate station assignments and communicate priorities to line cooks
  • Monitor food quality, portions, presentation, and ticket times during service
  • Assist with training and development of line cooks and kitchen staff
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen with proper food safety practices
  • Open/close duties and operating kitchen equipment as needed

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the kitchen line during assigned shifts to ensure smooth and efficient service

  • Prepare and execute food items according to recipes, specifications, and established quality standards

  • Coordinate station assignments and communicate priorities to line cooks and kitchen team members

  • Monitor food quality, portion sizes, presentation, and ticket times throughout service

  • Ensure all stations are properly stocked, organized, and prepared for service

  • Assist with training, coaching, and development of line cooks and other kitchen team members

  • Provide direction and support to team members during high‑volume service periods

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen while ensuring proper food safety practices are followed

  • Follow and enforce all food safety, sanitation, and food production regulations

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

  • Monitor food levels and communicate restocking or prep needs to the appropriate team members

  • Assist with inventory, receiving, labeling, storage, and proper rotation of food products as needed

  • Help minimize food waste and maintain appropriate portion and production controls

  • Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef, Executive Chef, and front‑of‑house team regarding service needs and kitchen operations

  • Address routine kitchen issues promptly and elevate concerns to management when appropriate

  • Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and organization of the kitchen

  • Lead by example and promote a positive, respectful, and team‑oriented work environment

Requirements
  • Previous line cook or culinary experience required; supervisory or lead cook experience preferred

  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, or high‑volume food service environment is ideal

  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for food

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team

  • Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills

  • Ability to maintain composure and make decisions in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure kitchen environment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation best practices

  • Ability to follow recipes, production schedules, and presentation standards

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

  • Culinary degree or formal culinary training is a plus but not required

$26.00 starting wage per hour
