Job summary

Canopy by Hilton New Orleans Downtown is seeking a Hotel Culinary Cook to join our culinary TEAM. You will prepare and execute high-quality menu offerings across the property's food and beverage operations, follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards, while maintaining a clean, safe workstation.

Work with our TEAM to deliver consistent, guest-focused dining experiences in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of cooking experience preferred.
  • Experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or luxury hospitality preferred.
  • Ability to follow recipes and established standards.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays may be required.
  • Reliable, professional and committed to providing an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, specifications, and established hotel standards.
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented with consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
  • Assist with daily food preparation, including prepping, portioning, stocking, and proper food storage.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and presentation.
  • Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the shift as needed.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and food production requirements.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.
  • Communicate effectively with the culinary TEAM and other hotel departments.
  • Work efficiently during high-volume service periods while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Support other culinary operations and duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and established standards.
  • Culinary degree or formal culinary training is a plus, but not required.
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to providing an exceptional guest experience.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, may be required based on hotel operations.
