Job summary

Bareburger is hiring a Kitchen Lead to oversee back-of-house operations at our Avon/Simsbury restaurants. You will manage prep work, service line execution, and staff training while ensuring food quality, safety, and efficiency across shifts.

The role involves hiring, delegating, inventory control, and coordinating with cooks to prepare meals for multiple platforms. A flexible schedule and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Protection certification.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in creating production par levels.
• Purchasing of all necessary items and supplies.
• Managing all purchases to budget.
• Managing labor costs to budget.
• Capable of conducting and assessing restaurant inventory.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule.
• Experience with delegating tasks and maintaining fast speed of service.

Responsibilities

• Order supplies, food and ingredients based on demand.
• Hire, onboard and train kitchen staff in stations, cross-train as needed.
• Maintain inventory levels and conduct weekly inventory.
• Create schedules for kitchen staff to meet demand.
• Schedule and oversee maintenance on kitchen appliances and space.
• Learn and manage all back-office functions and systems.
• Prepare ingredients for menu items and coordinate with cooks.
• Collaborate with cooks to serve meals across 3rd party platforms.
• Maintain food inventories and proper storage temperatures.
