The JOY FM is seeking a dependable Kitchen Helper to support church meals, events, and ministry gatherings. This part-time position offers about 20 hours per week, with responsibilities including dishwashing, cleaning, basic food preparation, supply organization, and setup and cleanup.

The ideal candidate is reliable, flexible, detail-oriented, and able to work well with staff and volunteers. Food handler certification is preferred or may be required after hire, depending on church policy.

We are seeking a dependable, service-minded Kitchen Helper to support church meals, events, and ministry gatherings by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen. This part‑time role, approximately 20 hours per week, includes but not limited to dishwashing, cleaning, basic food preparation, supply organization, and food‑service setup and cleanup. The ideal candidate is reliable, flexible, detail‑oriented, and able to work effectively with church staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, food service, dishwashing, or hospitality experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, safety procedures, and sanitation guidelines.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to complete tasks with attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and willingness to serve in a ministry‑focused environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and respect when interacting with staff, volunteers, church members, and guests.
• Food handler certification is preferred or may be required after hire, depending on church policy and local requirements.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and carry items during shifts.
• Ability to lift and move kitchen supplies, trash bags, dish racks, or food items up to approximately 40–50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as washing dishes, wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and stocking supplies.
• May work in warm, cool, wet, or fast‑paced kitchen conditions.
• Must follow safe handling practices for food, cleaning products, and kitchen equipment.
