Job summary

Sodexo at Delaware State University is seeking a Utility Worker to support kitchen and facility operations by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across food production and service areas. You will clean equipment, utensils, floors, walls, and storage spaces, and assist with basic set-up and break-down tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sanitation procedures, to include basic concepts of food safety.
• No related work experience required; willingness to learn on the job.
• Ability to perform tasks safely in a food service environment.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes by hand or uses the dishwashing machine.
• Cleans and sanitizes tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums floors and removes trash to designated areas.
• Cleans equipment with chemicals to maintain sanitary standards.
• Restocks soap, towels, and cleaning materials; supports with setup and break-down.
