Job summary

The Goodman Group, LLC is seeking a Cook to prepare cold food, bakery, and salad items for our residents in a dining settings. The role emphasizes following menus, portion control, and adherence to sanitary and food safety standards.

Experience in commercial kitchens is preferred; candidates should be able to work independently and with a team to support daily meal service and special events. This is a full-time position requiring on-site work.

Qualifications

• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• Six months experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Knowledgeable in cooking large quantities of food with little to no direction on how to cook the recipes.
• Knowledgeable of culinary practices, procedures, and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals that follow the menus and recipes. Food must be taste and temperature palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Inspect special diet trays to ensure the correct diet is served to the residents. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures. Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus. Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
• Prepare cold item foods, bakery and salad items.
• Cook hot foods as directed by Supervisor(s). Ensure culinary practices, procedures and food safety are followed.
• Adhere to food service timelines.
• Prepare and serve only authorized food substitutions to residents who refuse daily menu food options.
• Serve meals to residents and guests as needed.
• Assist in food preparation for special meals, parties, and events.
• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and Food ServSafe regulations.
• Ensure work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist with food prep for the upcoming meal and day.
• Assist with the inventory and replenishment process for food and supplies.
• Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
• Store in-coming food and supplies as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
