Job summary

Heinen’s is seeking a Retail Professional to support the Diamond Difference standards and daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced grocery environment.

You will prioritize tasks, prepare a variety of foods according to customer requests, maintain safety and quality standards, and collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently to achieve daily tasks.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Capable of multitasking across duties in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize daily work based on varying business needs.
• Prepare foods such as sandwiches and trays according to customer orders.
• Wash, peel, and cut foods for cooking or serving.
• Follow Heinen’s standards for paning, packaging, and merchandising.
• Acquire and share knowledge of Kitchen Department.
• Maintain food handling and temperature standards.
• Write orders using effective pars and planning.
• Work as part of a team to complete tasks, including stocking and merchandising.
• Attend corporate meetings, vendor calls, and training classes.
• Comply with food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize daily work based on varying business needs.
• Prepare a variety of foods, such as sandwiches, wraps, trays, according to customers’ orders following approved procedures.
• Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits, vegetables and meats, to prepare for cooking or serving.
• Follow Heinen’s panning, packaging, and merchandising standards.
• Acquire and share knowledge of Kitchen Department.
• Monitor and maintain all food handling and temperature standards
• Responsible for writing orders using effective pars and planning.
• Responsible for working as a team in order to complete daily tasks as needed, including scanning and recording shrink, order writing (weekly and special orders), stocking, rotating and merchandising.
• Attend required corporate meetings, vendor calls, and training classes.
• Comply with all personal and food safety company standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Possess a sense of urgency and the ability to work independently to achieve daily tasks.
• Possess the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Be production driven with the ability to work continuously on repetitive tasks, while standing.

• Possess the ability to work in temperatures ranging from 0 to 50 degrees.
• Must be willing to work the number of hours required to meet company objectives, with the understanding that occasionally business needs will require additional time.
• Must be willing to work the non-traditional five-day work schedule, including Saturday, Sunday and evenings.
