Job summary

Sur La Table is opening a New Location and seeks a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment. You will contribute to exceptional customer experiences across class operations and retail interactions, while upholding food safety standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, hospitality, and a passion for cooking, with a flexible part-time schedule (12–16 hours/week), including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of employment.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Maintain expertise by staying current on products, actively engaging in training, and seeking additional resources.
• Ensure exceptional customer experience by fostering a Guest Obsessed culture in both the kitchen and retail floor.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive repeat visits and positive feedback; help meet class revenue goals.
• Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
