Job summary

Camden Hills Regional High School in Camden, ME is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for Fall 2026. This full-time position (30 hrs/week) runs 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, with holidays, school breaks, and summers off. Excellent pay, benefits, and supportive coworkers are offered.

Responsibilities include assisting in nutrition, serving meals, operating equipment safely, following HACCP, maintaining records, and supporting the Food Services team under supervision of the Food Services Director.

• Perform duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager/Director.

Position Summary

This position works 9am - 3:30pm, inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid break.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a high standard of nutrition for all students.

• Assist with student money and meal accountability.
• Maintain all federal and state production records and related paperwork as assigned by the Food Services Director.
• Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Food Service Manager and/or Food Service Director.

Qualifications/Skills

• Training in sanitation and food handling safety.
• Ability to interact well with students, staff, and community.
• Strong characteristics of cooperation, flexibility, initiative, and industriousness.

Requirements

• Background check, including fingerprinting
• Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval
• Kitchen experience preferred
• Knowledge of food service operations

Pay And Benefits

• Pay is $20.44 - $25.72 based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
