Job summary

Five Town CSD & MSAD #28 is hiring a Kitchen Assistant at Camden Hills Regional High School in Rockport, ME. The 30-hour/week position runs 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, with holidays, school breaks, and summers off, and includes benefits.

Applicants must pass a background check and CHRC approvals. Responsibilities include preparing nutritious meals for students, serving lunch, operating kitchen equipment safely, maintaining records, coordinating with staff, and upholding HACCP procedures.

Qualifications

• Training in sanitation and food handling safety.
• Ability to interact well with students, staff, and community.
• Strong characteristics of cooperation, flexibility, initiative, and industriousness.
• Background check and fingerprinting.
• Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval.
• Knowledge of food service operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a high standard of nutrition for all students.
• Work as a team member with staff at assigned school.
• Operate necessary equipment in the safest and most efficient way to maximum capacity.
• Be responsible for the correct use of and care of all equipment.
• Assist in serving students during lunch
• Run the dishwasher in between meal periods
• Follow established sanitation and HACCP procedures.
• Assist with student money and meal accountability.
• Maintain all federal and state production records and related paperwork as assigned by the Food Services Director.
• Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Food Service Manager and/or Food Service Director.
