Job summary

Five Town CSD is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for Camden Hills Regional High School in Camden, ME. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with benefits, starting Fall 2026.

The position requires a focus on scratch cooking, assisting the kitchen manager with all aspects of the kitchen, and working 7am to 3:30pm with an unpaid 30-minute break.

Qualifications

• Training in sanitation and food handling safety.
• Ability to interact well with students, staff, and community.
• Strong characteristics of cooperation, flexibility, initiative, and industriousness.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a high standard of nutrition for all students.
• Work as a team member with staff at assigned school.
• Operate necessary equipment in the safest and most efficient way to maximum capacity.
• Be responsible for the correct use of and care of all equipment.
• Assist in the preparation and cooking of all foods.
• Follow established sanitation and HACCP procedures.
• Maintain all federal and state production records and related paperwork as assigned by the Food Services Director.
• Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Food Service Manager and/or Food Service Director.

Requirements

• Background check, including fingerprinting
• Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval
• Knowledge of food service operations

Pay and Benefits

• Pay is $20.44 - $25.72 based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
