Job summary

West Bristol School in Bristol Public Schools seeks a Kindergarten Teaching Assistant for a grant-funded position. The role supports instruction in classroom, small groups, and one-on-one settings, under the direction of the classroom teacher.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree, assist with IEP/504/SRBI tasks, and help implement Fundations concepts, literacy and math activities, while maintaining a safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience supporting elementary instruction preferred.
• Ability to work with general education and special education needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Assist teacher in maintaining a positive, focused classroom environment.
• Assist teacher with instructional activities.
• Conduct small group instruction for literacy and math support.
• Conduct one-on-one instructional sessions as directed by the teacher.
• Reteach Fundations concepts.
• Monitor Lexia/ST platforms and review progress.
• Provide substitute coverage, as needed.
• Escort students between rooms and assist with transitions.
• Assist with IEP/504/SRBI implementation.
• Supervise students during recess and lunch.
• Prepare materials and paperwork for instructional purposes.
• Alert teachers to problems and ensure safety standards.
