Job summary

Bristol Public Schools seeks a Long Term Substitute- Elementary Grade 3 Teacher for West Bristol School. The role involves delivering planned instruction when the regular teacher is absent and maintaining classroom routines.

The substitute will prepare lessons, maintain student records, and support school objectives under the building principal and talent management leadership. This is a temporary, on-site position starting at the 26-27 school year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree (Associate degree or two years of college acceptable in some situations; teaching certification desirable).
• Valid Connecticut Teaching Certificate desirable.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write memos, reports and correspondence; ability to present information to groups of administrators, staff, parents and the general public.
• Ability to use basic computer tools including email, word processing, databases and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Assume all responsibilities for instructing class when a teacher is absent.
• Perform all other non-instructional duties for absent teacher.
• Prepare lesson plans when such are not available.
• Maintain records including tests, quizzes, grades and clerical work.
