Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Prepares for classes and can show written evidence of preparation as required by the contract.
• Employs varied instructional techniques and media suited to locations and student needs.
• Assess students’ progress regularly and provide reports to parents as needed.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policies.
• Diagnose learning challenges and seek district specialist assistance when required.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities; follow conduct policies and classroom rules.
• Plan and supervise paraprofessional assignments and provide evaluations as required.
