Job summary

Marblehead Public Schools seeks a Kindergarten Instructional Assistant at Marblehead Public-Lucretia & Joseph Brown School to support students with disabilities and assist the classroom teacher in delivering instruction.

The role emphasizes following directions, implementing IEP-related strategies, data collection on behaviors, supervising during transitions, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with general and special education staff.

Qualifications

• Must follow the teacher's directions in all areas, with school or child experience preferred.
• Must work as part of a team for the benefit of all students.
• Experience with job coaching preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
• At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow directions and meet the expectations of supervising staff.
• Be familiar with student IEPs and implement specialized instruction and behavioral strategies under supervision.
• Implement behavior plans and collect behavior data.
• Assist with instruction for students with disabilities.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times and transitions.
• Collaborate with general education, special education, and related services staff.
• Implement interventions across academic, behavioral, and special needs areas.
• Maintain student confidentiality at work and after hours.
• Understand disability ranges and request information when needed.
• Carry out other related special education duties as assigned.
