Kentwood Public Schools is seeking a ParaProfessional - Special Education to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a certified staff member. The role emphasizes assisting in instructional and non-instructional tasks, including data tracking and IEP-related responsibilities.

The position requires collaboration with staff to differentiate lessons, support field trips, and maintain student welfare while promoting inclusive practices across classrooms and school settings.

Qualifications

• Two years of study at an institution of higher learning (equal to 60 credits) OR an associate's degree (or higher) OR pass an approved formal state academic assessment.
• Prior experience working with students with disabilities.
• Willingness to participate in professional development as identified by the principal, the special education department, or the district.

Responsibilities

• Assists and guides students individually or in small groups to reinforce essential learning skills.
• Assists professional staff in administering classroom assignments and assessments.
• Supports differentiation of instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
• Maintains data tracking for student progress aligned with IEPs and PBSPs.
• Assists in non-instructional areas like lunch supervision, bus duty, and safety procedures.
