Job summary

Lowell Community Charter Public School seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to work closely with students with special needs under the supervision of licensed staff. The role includes providing physical and emotional support, reinforcing academic skills, and assisting with daily living activities as required.

Responsibilities include coordinating with teachers, collecting data, supporting communication between home and school, supervising lunches, and helping adapt materials.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 60 college credits or proof of passage of the paraprofessional test.
• Successful experience working with children preferred.
• High School diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in physical tasks as directed by supervisor or teacher.
• Reinforce student learning in reading, math, science and social studies as directed.
• Support teachers with materials, data collection and reinforcement strategies.
• Aid in communication between home and school as requested by teachers.
• Participate in staff development and adapt materials to student needs.
• Monitor and supervise students during lunches and class coverage.
