Job summary

Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and collaborative Long-Term Substitute Kindergarten Teacher for the Paul F. Doyon Memorial School (PK–5).

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging kindergarten instruction aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum while creating a warm, inclusive classroom environment. Collaboration with staff, progress assessment, and ongoing professional responsibilities are expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts teaching license (or eligibility) in Early Childhood (PreK–2) or Elementary.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience teaching kindergarten or early elementary preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate kindergarten instruction aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with IEPs and English learners.
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, special educators, specialists, and support staff.
• Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
• Fulfill all duties of a classroom teacher, including supervision, classroom management, and professional responsibilities.
