Job summary

Portland Public Schools seeks a long-term substitute kindergarten teacher for Presumpscot Elementary School this fall. Under the principal's direction, substitute plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students.

Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. Supervises students and communicates with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university.
• Maine State Teacher Certificate with endorsed areas 020 or 029.
• CHRC clearance as part of certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide learning experiences for kindergarten students.
• Develop and modify instructional plans to meet diverse needs.
• Monitor student progress and maintain records.
• Communicate with parents, staff, and community.
